Hi,
My 1999 6.8 has developed a miss at low rpm lugging, so I checked on my code reader and it says the Fuel Volume Regulator Control has open circuit.
Well, I can't find anything on these forums or in my shop manual on a fuel volume regulator. Is my reader just using the wrong name?
You most likely have a wet spark plug or a bad COP. You probably won't get a code for this.
If you want to try the "blind" method, start pulling COPs and see if any of the boots are wet or dirty or even rusty. Clean it up, throw it back together and see if it helps.
If it does, consider replacing the plugs and boots to really get it right
My first thought was "Oh no, another spark plug" I've already replace 6 with inserts. But then I realized there was no constant miss, so then I figured it was a COP.
That's when I tried my new scanner, my son copped my old one. The old one always showed bad COPs. Maybe I just don't know how to use the new one.
I'll swap with my son and let him figure out the new one.
