Rv plug in bed

Anyone have the oem part number for the extension plug?

Or a good aftermarket one to use?

Thanks.

You are money ahead and less headaches if you go with the OEM in bed connector kit. It plugs into factory connectors located near the left rear wheel well. You can get the part number and maybe other questions answered on this thread...

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-question.html

Or if you have a good salvage yard or pick and pull place, you might find the connector in a truck there for less money.

Just my .02 cents....go factory

Wouldn't the factory one be better?

Personally, I think the factory is a better solution. I have it on my 2015 with no problems. The connectors are up and out of the way form build up of dirt and trash.

Does the factory plug work on every truck? More so, does my truck for sure have the pig tails to plug into?

They are basically the same type of plug with different prices. If you have a 7 pin on your truck you are good to go. Look under the truck where the spare should be slightly towards the drivers side and you'll see your plug and where the adaptor plugs in.

Though the factory and aftermarket solutions do the same job, they are not the same part. All of the aftermarket ones I have seen plug in between the OEM wiring harness and the 7 pin plug shell. The factory solution plugs into the waterproof connectors tied up on the frame between the hitch and spare that are there for that purpose. This can be run forward if you want to install it near the headboard, or aft if you want to install it near the tailgate.

I'm not sure what years that applies to, but it did on my '15. If you have them, you will find them underneath near the rear on the drivers side frame rail. There are two connectors with blanking plugs in them to keep out the dirt and moisture.

I've used the after market one and the OEM. I prefer the OEM. There are holes in the body that match up perfectly with push fasteners on the wire. Makes for a super clean install.

The part # is BC3Z13A576A and this is where I installed it. Others prefer it farther back, but this works well for me.

If you go to your local dealer, see if they will match this Ford dealer online price

WIRING ASY | Genuine Ford | BC3Z-13A576-A

above plus shipping, no tax unless you live in same state.

Or look for it on eBay, free shipping. Not sure about tax but probably no tax unless in same sate as seller.
