I replaced the rear most valve cover gasket back in February. I was doing some work under the hood today, and found this part flopping around. I was fighting the weather at that point, and must have overlooked it. The PN is F6AF-18801-AA.
The suppressor can be attached to any ground bolt convenient to ground it to the block. The other end should connect to the loom that has the alternator output inside.
I think this is the noise suppression capacitor for the 'hum' from the alternator. If your radio makes noise that varies along with engine rpm, that's your clue.

That's an RFI capacitor for the ignition coils. You should have one on each bank. The engine will run just fine without it but it may cause undesirable radio interference.
It gets attached to a secure grounding point, probably a bolt that goes into the head or block.
