Hi I'm thinking about buying a Certified 2013 Ford F150 SuperCrew Platinum with 40,000 Miles for a n equal $40,000

My question is which year should i get to avoid any possible issues?
The 331 should get you decent gas mileage. If you are towing heavier loads or you like a good hole shot then the 355 is nicer. The 2013's are pretty solid. I like the Platinums.
I always like to be the first person of the day to start a vehicle. There were some instances of timing chain noise on earlier EBs.
What are your intentions with this beautiful truck? Towing, hauling, commuter?
I like the Ford CPO warranty and it still has 20K miles of factory drive train warranty left.
However, as mentioned above, go there early and be the first to start her up. Better yet, see if they'll allow you to take it home overnight or for a weekend.
$40k around here for a used 2013 Platinum would be a tad high but I don't see allot of CPOs available. I would take it for a long test drive at the very least.

Hole shot is nice, so I'll try to find a 355. When I'm test driving, i'll go early, and listen for noises. thank you for the info!

Maybe an FX4 would be a bit easier on the wallet...I was shooting for the star's but I may have to come down to reality...For me, all the fixin's isn't that important, but my wife will drive as well, and anything to help keep t in between the lines is good with me?
Kidding aside, I have a 3.31 geared 4wd Platinum on larger 275/65/20 BFG KO2s and in stock form the truck still battles for traction when you want it to. The engine is more than capable of providing the power, and the first 2 gears in the transmission are shockingly low. The 3.31s actually load up the turbos (via resistance) and many folks have claimed that the lower geared trucks are often quicker (less snappy though) in a straight pull. My truck is rated to tug around just shy of 9,000lbs as configured.
I will say that the truck is LOADED with electronics, and I purchased the Ford Premium Care out to 7yrs and 125k miles for peace of mind. Glad that I did cause it's half paid off already on two small items...one being a faulty rear defrost that required the back glass to be replaced.
I love the truck though. Comfortable. Quiet smooth power.
3.31's h ere also on an XLT 4x4 running BFG 265-70-17's. MPG's are great though my truck is a bit lighter than a Platinum. If I were to do it again, I'd opt for the 3.31's and the ecoboost without reservation.
