My 2001 V10 has started having some really rough idling issues.Hooked up IDS and at first it gave an iac circuit error but that went away but p1131 and p1151 keep popping up and also getting an egr flow error and maf contamination error. Where should I start? The idle will actually almost cause the engine to stall and sometimes it will surge to around 1100 rpms and then back down to 700 or so. As far as driving down the road it drives fine just at idle it acts up. Thanks guys.
Im not sure if it has an EGR or not. I will do some looking around on it tomorrow and see. I will have to pull the IAC and clean it and see if that helps and if not Ill just replace it and go from there. Just trying to check the simple stuff first. Thanks for the input.
On the drivers side exhaust manifold do you have a hose or a capped boss? If you have a hose that is the EGR system.
Before removing the IAC run some seafoam or berrymans b12 through the brake booster hose. Tons of youtube videos to show how this works. If your idle clears up you will know it is the IACV. Mine cleared up for a couple weeks and I eventually replaced it because the same issues were returning.
Its the hose in the middle of the pic. I temporarily have a sparkplug boot on it and its semi working, its loose still on the large end but the vaccuum holds it on, need to put a clamp on it. I need the correct hose tho. Thanks.
