How to identify engine size
I recently got a 1968 ford f100 and the 4th digit in the VIN says Y for 360 but the owner says it was swapped out but he doesn't know what size. How can I identify my engine size?

Assuming it's another FE, just pull the #1 cylinder spark plug, find TDC and take a wood dowel, insert it into the plug hole until it hits the piston. Then mark the dowel where it touches the edge of the valve cover, rotate the crank until you have BDC, insert the dowel and mark it again. Measure between the marks to find your displacement.
A 360 will have a 3.5" stroke and a 390 will have a 3.784" stroke. If you come up with something other than these two strokes then it's time to do some digging and figure out whatcha got.
