Ok I posted about some help with hydroboost a year or so ago. Been reading it but have some final questions before i pull the trigger and make full commitment
My hydroboost pedal rod is bent and had to go to the f350 booster way but now its leaking. ****.
So im tired of it and want to get hydroboost like i wanted to in the beginning
I currently run a GM sag pump.
The hydroobost i had was off a 2005-2009 f450. But fron reading everyones swap..i may can bolt this up without needing an adapter. So im planning to go buy another hydroboost and swap this in as a core.
Im trying to figure how to run the lines. Im assuming the top fitting on the hydroboost is the return to the ps pump? Then the other hook ups are the high pressure, one goes to the steering box and the other to the ps pump? Then the ps pump has last line running to the steering box?
Where would i add the asjustable proportioning valve and cooler at? One of the high pressure lines?
And are any of you have any issues with the firewall bowing due to the hydroboost? I wouldnt expect it.
This is in a 79 bronco. No one knows much in the bronco forum on there much since they have newer ones.
I just found this one I picked up at the JY a few years back off a T-Bird I think.
I thought it was cool back then as it had an aluminum MC not common like today. Had been saving it for a special build.
Are your returns combined into one before going back into the power steering pump? Too much back pressure on the hydroboost return line can cause a no return pedal. That is why it is a good idea to find a dual return pump housing.
