Sloppy front axle
Was under my truck today just inspecting things in preparation for the ball joint and front u joint job I'm getting ready to do when the parts come in. I grabbed the axle on the passenger side where it goes into the spindle on the back side of the tire and shook it and it has a lot of play in it. It just flops around very excessive play. I'm assuming it a bearing that's bad. But which one? I'm trying to have all the parts with me so I can minimize down time.

I'm assuming that it's a Dana 50 IFS since you grabbed your axle...
There is a needle bearing that was completely gone in my truck when I took it apart. The axle had a lot of play like you described before I replaced it.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. It's the only logical thing that it could be. Gonna run to harbour frieght and pick up a slide hammer. Been wanting one for a whole now I got an ax use to buy one. I just hope it hasn't buggered up the actual axle shaft.
