The fact is I did my due diligence and searched the best I could for an answer to my particular question, but it's never been asked. Remember my question was about pre-cut plug wires and rotor position, my question was not about how to install plug wires of which most replies were about. If you can find on this forum the exact same question that I asked then point it out to me please. My initial question was quite simple, read the following answers and you'll see that you are right and people were trying to help me but read the answers and you'll understand that they were off track and not to the point. As far as being 'tripped up' I asked a simple question the kindly re-worded the question again, read the post following I'm certainly not the one tripped up others were..

Your first post references plug wires, timing, and distributor.

You need to position and install the distributor correctly first before concerning yourself with plug wire installation. I think that is where most of the comments were starting.

Your use of "timing right" and "point the rotor" is ditributor related, not plug wire related. If you were only asking about the plugs, you should have questioned "correct firing order", which an image can be googled quite easily.

I was reading along with the thread and was under the impression that you did not know what you are doing because you were concerned with marked wires rather than distributor placement.

There is simply no way, that without following the procedures for finding tdc that the members were telling you, that you turned the key and started the truck on the first try. The fact that you said that, and feel that anyone would believe that, shows even more that you dont understand the importance of step #1 that everyone was trying to start you out on.

Thanks

My apologies if I'm not understanding the previous answers. I don't want to have to purchase another set of plug wires I want to use my existing pre-cut wires. Only the wire placement was noted when it was removed not the distributor.
Sounds like two different questions to me. (Well, one isn't a question.) No wonder we're all confused! At any rate, I see a "Thanks" there and I'm glad it's up and running. By the way, were you able to use the same pre-cut wires?
