Fan

I had my truck in for oil cooler about 1.5 yr ago. When I got it back and went on first trip the thing got hot and blew the radiator apart. Had them replace the radiator and they recommended a cooling fan. It's not electric. The thing robs power and is loud when the motor is cold in the mornings. Has anyone ever replaced the electric fan with old school one?

If yours is running an electric fan, that would be unusual... these normally come with an electronic controlled clutch fan, belt driven and loud as hell when it hooks-up.... but very effective!

That's what I meant. The factory one they recommended replacing with non electric centrifugal or whatever. I don't like the way it robs power.

maybe they used the 7.3 fan. Some guys do that if they are plowing snow or pulling heavy all the time.

I'm not sure which one they used, has anybody ever seen this? Should I tell them to put the factory one back on?

the 7.3 fan will move some serious air and unless your pulling heavy, live in a hot climate or you like the A/C to put out snow.... not needed.

Check your receipt, it may be listed as the 99-03 fan and it does run heavy all the time.
