Glowplug removal problems. NEED HELP!

Today I finally got round to changing my glowplugs. I had no trouble with 7 of them. One of them took a little bit more torque to break and I needed to spin it the whole way out with a ratchet ( the 1/4" hose trick wouldn't work). Once it was fully unthreaded it took quite a bit of convincing to pull out as well. Once it was out it had a brown appearance to it. I will attach a picture of it compared to one of the other plugs. When inserting the new glow plug it took a tiny amount of force to push it into the hole while all the others just dropped right in.
What do you think is going on inside there?
How would I troubleshoot it more?
What could I do to fix it?
The truck runs well
Thanks!!

Wondering if there is a carbon buildup in the hole causing that.

Probably that glow plug wasnt working at all thats why it was full of carbon, or it worked it self loose and compression was getting thru.

My glow plugs had something that looked like that on the tip but all 8 dropped right in and was able to pull them out with a magnet.

I agree with what was said above!

When you get them broke free, spray with some carb cleaner or other aerosol which dissolves Carbon and remove in 30 minutes.

You can try spraying some in now to see if it loosens any deposits. Remember, the carbon is harder than the steel its attached to; so no banging on the new unit.

Is it just me or do the threads on the 2 glow plugs look different?

I actually have a glow plug hole reamer that cuts through the carbon buildup. You work it in slowly back and forth and keep pulling it out to clear the carbon from the grooves in the tool. I used it with success on my Daimler OM603. I got it here:

Pelican Parts - European Automotive Parts and Accessories - Porsche • BMW • Mercedes • Volkswagen • Audi • Saab • Volvo • MINI

I actually know this one. The seal on a glow plug is where the heating tip meets the shaft. This makes perfect sense to me if you want to keep carbon off the sides of the GP housing, and the compression at a maximum. With the seal way down deep in the head, a compromise there makes a mess, which you have. Let me show you what also happens with a glow plug seal leak (open in separate browser and maximize the view to see better):

Oil likes to built around the glow plug, and escaping compression gasses are sooting up the oil something fierce. The member's truck in the video is also losing a little compression in that cylinder because of the leak.

You might try a tube brush, like I saw at Harbor Freight for 8 bucks:

Never thought of that happening! If I ever get back under there for any reason I'll keep an eye out.

First thing I noticed. It looks like the thread pitch is different to me.

It could be an optical illusion with the camera lens/angle, but best to check it.

I'm thinking that they are not laying perfectly parallel to each other giving the optical illusion that the threads have different angles.

They were definitely not made at the same time. The Beru part numbers and manufacturing numbers are oriented at 90 degree angles to each other.

The more I look at the machining on those threads they definitely look like they are cut different.

I took a good look at each of the plugs today and the threads are definitely the same. It must just be the way I took the picture. All the plugs worked well when I hooked them up to a battery today.
