I have a 2002 that I got when it was one year old and it had a gold Superchip, plug-in style. Recently I have narrowed an issue with either total loss of power and sometimes partial loss of power to the chip by removing it and running it for a few weeks with no further issues of this nature.
So, the question is can this chip be flashed/re-programmed to the original setup or something similar? I really liked the hp the chip provided - guessing around 80hp. Without that chip, it runs like a dog since I have always know nothing without the chip.
I'm not interested in lots of hp nor in towing a lot, just do not like what stock feels like.
First off, it didn't provide 80 hp. That's just a number that's thrown around from tuners to make you feel better. Kind of like Dodge guys flipping their mirrors to the upright position when they're not towing anything.
Some of the superchips tuners can have custom tunes programmed onto them. Decide which tuner you want and email them and ask about your options.

Thanks,

I tried to have my old gold brick flashed and was told that they no longer support the product. If they do say it can be done, find out how generic the tunes are to the PCM's this one is for a 1999 and could be yours for free if it is compatible.

I'd be interested due to the fact that we have a '99 that is bone stock and could use a little possibly cheap pep.

Agreed. Whether it is damaged or not, you would not believe the difference that a new PHP Hydra would make especially with Gearhead tunes when compared to the old gold thing. You would not regret spending the money.
