Talking CHIPS v CHIPS

I'm seriously considering getting a chip and I would like recommendations from this group as to which one. I have considered the DP Tuner 5 Pos. I can't really find a whole lot on Tony Wildman.

I noticed that TJ is running a Diablo 3 Pos. I know that there are many to choose from and I really would like your input. Any and all comments will, as always be appreciated.

Jody is DP Tuner, Tony obviously is tony wildman, I have a chip from each one of them, both are great to work with, I would recommend either. I cannot tell any difference between tunes, but they are in different trucks, so it is tough to tell cause it is not apples to apples. Jody's chip has an electronic swither thingy (that is the technical term) and it is capable of holding 16 programs I believe, tony's is more traditional mechanical switcher thingy that can have 6 programs.

You can't go wrong with either one. But don't get something other than those two! I have a diablo chip cause that was what was in my truck when I bought it. I will soon be getting a better chip. From what I hear Tony is REALLY good with the OBS. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON ANY OTHER CHIP!!!! I have not heard a single person say my after getting a TW or DP chip that they wish they still had their other chip. on that list of other chips are banks, bully dog, superchip, edge, TS, hypertech, and all the other chips/programmers out there.

What about the Edge Evolution? Has three levels 60 80 and 100 HP. Plus It reads codes and has data stream. Just plug into data link and upload program. Lowest price I have seen is 310 for new on e-bay. I guess If you plan on going over 100 Its not for you but I just might go for it myself. I like the fact that you can pull codes with it. You get two for the price of one, programmer and code reader

Any opinions on the evolution?

PS At what point do you have to build a stronger motor to handle the power?

i had a edge evolution and now have a tony wildman. The tony wildman is a way better chip performance wise but yes it is nice being able to look at codes and it is easy to remove the evolution. Go with the wildman the evo is only good in the superduties.

Im looking for a used edge evo. I know all of yall reccomend the TW or DP, but for my purposes i dont think i will need anything more that an Edge. I like the code reader ability, plus the fact that it connects to the OBD port and not the computer itself. I dont plan on adding bigger injectors or anything like that anytime soon. I agree if you are wanting the best chip for making the most power and the ability to handle bigger injectors and other performance mods then TW or DP is the way to go. For the average everyday joe wanting good power I like the Edge Evo.

The chip on my end is more about being able to change shift points.
And eco burn is short shift
And tow burn is higher rpm shift.
Just something to think about. Towing with the higher RPM shift point is soooo much better. With a tow burn the TC stays locked longer on decell.
Thats if you donot touch the brakes.

Yours is a 5speed so above will not matter.

I have the edge evo, and love it. I Love the ability to pull codes, but I think that soon I am upgrading to a TW chip. I like the switch on the fly deal. I know the edge doesnt add 100 hp as it claims.

for what your doing, go with the edge evolution. i have a 96 psd ext. cab 4x4 with a built E4OD, aftermarket box air intake, full 4" exhaust from the turbo back. the truck also has 3.55 gears. i set it on the tow mode 60 h.p. and run it like that. i don't even have a pyro meter on it. it has plenty of power better fuel mileage, and is alot more responsive just off idle. just my .02
