Jim - I knew you knew. I was just explaining how, to me, it defies logic. Why isn't a number on a part a part number? But, I'm glad it makes sense to someone.
Truckandute - Just noticed your location. Is that Lancashire the county or town? Have been close to that area in our ramblings while living/working up in London, but don't think I've actually been there.
Anyway, just FYI, all the wiring diagrams, vacuum info, and troubleshooting tips for your truck are on my web site, starting here: 1986 EVTM - Gary's Garagemahal

Gary
its Lancashire the county
I live near Blackpool on the north east coast.
great website you have there, will be sure to check it out more often.
Sam - Thanks. Just wanting to make sure you have as much help as you can get as it can't be easy having the only truck of its kind in the area - at least I assume it is.
We lived fairly close to an air base where US airmen were stationed and a few of them brought their vehicles over, but very few. And those trucks looked like monsters when you met them on a B road. And in a car park they took up more than one parking place.

These forums are great resources for me as I don't have a local garage or parts store that have any experience of my trucks.
My mate has a single cab dually bullnose, but that's all I've seen in this neck of the woods.
I once bought a 92 ranger off some gents at a US airforce Base in lincoshire. They was all shipping back home have could not fit it on the c17 globemaster.
I can't imagine a dually over there. It has been a few years since I've driven there, maybe 10, but the roads probably haven't gotten any wider. We were in Ireland last autumn, where the hire car just barely fit the lanes.
I'm convinced drivers there are, on the whole, better than the drivers here. We are used to lots of room so don't need to be precise. You have to thread the needle frequently and learn to do it.
