hi all, trying to figure out a way to restore the pitted old emblems on the 56. I figure I will carefully sand with a dremel tool, and get it smoothed out the best I can. Then prime and paint with chrome paint. Does anyone have a good solution for the red paint? Does anyone have a paint code or anything for the emblem red? thank you
I want to try and have mine powder coated after I smooth them out, but they are from a 53 and don't have two colors. Not sure if they can two tone powder coating or not.
With the amount of work and time to fix those ones I would just buy them. I would have to fix mine because they are for an F250 and they don't sell them
My truck is a driver, not a show truck. just looking to make it a good 10 footer. Not looking to drop a couple hundred bucks to replace all the emblems on the truck with new ones.
For the chrome, I've had good results with Duplicolor's Metalcast Silver Anodized Ground Coat. It's meant to be used as a base coat for their semi-transparent "anodized" colors in their Metalcast line, but it looks good by itself as well.
I've also used their standard Chrome paint, and that seems to be a bit smoother.
Sorry I can't help with any suggestions for the correct red.

I've heard nothing but good things about Leanna's work. She's well known in Mopar circles, and she can probably tackle any powder job you can throw her way.
