Ok, so I decided to install the B&M shift improver kit while I had the bottom of the transmission pulled apart(this was my second one I have done). I did the instructions for the towing application and carefully installed everything, new gaskets, springs ,etc. And everything is now working 110%. Wow,, the shift kit gives it a firm but not severe shift and it upshifts and downs shifts like it is supposed to do.
The old gasket took over an hour to clean off the separator plate, but I took my time with a razor blade scraper and got it all, cleaned the valve bodies and accumulator good. I couldnt be happier with the way it turned out. It also seems to pull stronger now when I pulled my boat yesterday, felt really good.
If anyone is thinking about installing the B&M shift improver kit for the E4OD, it is well worth the trouble. Total install for me was about 3 hours and I took my time and was really methodical making sure I didnt miss anything. Also installed the new shift solenoid and this is what the original problem was anyway, the old solenoid was bad.
