Are these trucks supposed to have a fan shroud fitted? My 69 F100 hasn't got one, but hasn't overheated so far...though I haven't sat in traffic on a hot day yet. Will look for one if it's advisable to fit.

When I first bought mine it needed a gallon of water after I got home.
Should have checked it before I left but was excited to drive it home!
No leaks, no rust, just needed fluid. 300 CID straight 6.
Didn't overheat, never has.

Well debatable, the previous owner said a 390 and the VIN says so, but I'm not 100% confident that it is.

London is a great city that I was lucky to live in for a year a very long time ago. Just curious as to what you pay for a gallon of gas there now?

D3TZ-8146-C (replaced C8TZ-8146-K) .. Fan Shroud / Marked on upper left corner: C8TA-8146-S or D3TA-8146-DA / Reproduced by Carpenter.

1968/76 F100/350 360/390 with standard/xtra cooling and A/C radiators (Approx: 26 1/4" wide x 19 1/4" high).

Not used with Super Cooling radiator (Approx: 26 1/4" wide x 24 1/4" high).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your truck has a Super Cooling radiator, the radiator support is different...as it has a larger opening radius than the standard/xtra cooling and A/C radiators.

C7TZ-8146-B .. Fan Shroud-Use with Super Cooling radiator only (Approx: 26 1/4" wide x 24 1/4" high) / Reproduced by Carpenter.

Marked on upper left corner: C7TA-8146-H or D2TA-8146-HA or D3TA-8146-JA

1967 F100/350 352 / 1968/76 F100/350 360/390.
---------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't get that hot in the UK compared to the USA

3/1999, while we were in the Lakes District, the radio said put your chocolate bunnies in the fridge because it's going to be hot on Easter.

It was 70 degrees on Easter!

Hi, it's about £1.08 per litre now, so that's about £4.10, or $5.90 per gallon.

Prices were as low as 99p per litre a few months back, but are now creeping up again.

Thanks for that info, the core measures 26 1/4" by 19 1/4" so is the standard/xtra cooling one. Oh, yes I know only too well that the summers here don't get as hot as in many states in the US....and are almost certainly shorter...but we do get the odd freaky hot day over here and loads of slow moving traffic where I live, so may still invest in a shroud. Cheers

A shroud is nice for the safety factor alone. Kinda creepy working on a running motor with that thing spinning away.
