the root cause of the problem i believe .. was uneven pad wear .. one side was fatter and the other slimer on each opposite pad .. so the pistons were driving crooked .. this probably lead to binding in the piston bore not helped with torn rubber boots .. so probably i could have avoided .. or extended the time until i would have had to replace the caliper had i installed new pads sooner and thereby returned the piston travel straight ahead..
Thats not the root cause, thats what happens when either the caliper can't move properly or a piston doesnt move right, usually when the caliper can't move you wear one pad down faster then the other (almost always the side that has the piston(s) on it will wear faster). You should replace the caliper if you havent already as to properly rebuild them you have to change the pistions, i have yet to seen one where the rust build up hasn't scorned the seal surface.

Ouch .. that looks pretty bad .. but i can't put a new one .. I just spent the afternoon cutting em' straight ........ i would post a pic but i already put the wheel back on .. but .. i will post a pic of the fre sh cut rotor .. new /pads/caliper when the parts come in the mail ..
