I... think you are both agreeing with each other here...
That was my point - we are agreeing. This trans is toast. Even with no vacuum reverse would work. But this trans doesn't have reverse. So fixing the vacuum, if in fact it's bad, won't fix this trans.

This one DOES NOT HAVE REVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to be clear I do have reverse after the truck warms up about 5 min or so. I appreciate all the replays and will keep u up to date on what I find. I will start by checking lines and pump but I have a transmission that I bought with a 86 I've been parting out so I should be covered either way
I am not an additive guy as a rule, even if it did work for a while I'd be expecting it to break down again at an inconvenient time. Might be worth a shot in this case.

never said it would fix reverse Mark. all i was saying is that low vacuum will make a C6 not shift properly, and extremely low vacuum will make it not shift until you let off the throttle.
if he has a bad vacuum pump, replacing the trans will not fix the shifting problem.
i actually think he has two problems, low vacuum, and bad seals in the reverse circuit.
Any chance some sort of snake oil will soften them?

my experience at the body shop with the snake oils is that they do not work. the lucas stop leak works for a little while, but every vehicle that i ever had come in that had snake oils added to the trans needed a trans put in it within a few weeks of adding it.
