1,000 pounds is about the same as the difference between two guys before and after lunch! For a diesel 1,000 pounds is definitely "in the noise".
I presently have another brand one ton diesel, truck doesn't even know (or care) that it's back their. I expect the same from the new Lariat F-350.

The aluminum draw bars won't rust like the steel ones, but they do corrode and can have the same problem, although I have never seen one that was as bad as a steel one.
Mine came with the adapter - it was in the under-seat storage in the back of the truck... (F350 SRW Lariat CC).
I've been warned that aftermarket adapters (particularly the Reese) may need a little modification to fit - something about the corners of the Ford one being rounder, and one that's "too square" may not fit the receiver easily - but I haven't had any first hand knowledge.
