Trailer Hitch Receiver

Am I reading the Super Duty book correctly. It states that on a 2016, Diesel, SRW, with 158" wheel base the trailer hitch receiver is 2.5". Does the 2" reducer sleeve come with the truck?

I'll have to check. Going to have to check. Truck won't be here for a couple of weeks, but I'll be looking to tow the boat a day or two later. Just wanted to know if I should have a sleeve ready.

My dually did, and I would assume the SRW would also.

Mine came with it as well, but as I understood reading the manual, using it would lower your tongue weights as opposed to not using it.

When you use the sleeve you are probably limited by the drawbar capacity in most cases.

Also, I will point this out: my previous truck was a 2014, f250, 6.7 PSD with 2.5" receiver.
My 32' travel trailer swayed way to much with the use of the 2" sleeve. Very sloppy and loose fit. You could move the shank 1/4" left to right! This had to be the problem. 36' back to end of trailer equates to several inches of sway.
My previous truck to the 2014 was a 2012 f250 6.2 with 2" receiver. Towed like a dream. Same type of truck, same travel trailer. My latest truck is a 2016 f250 6.2, with 2" receiver. Tows great! Really great with 4.30 gears.
I solved the issue on the 2014. I purchased a 2.5" shank. Worked great. Sway was gone.

You will get the adapter with the hitch. Make your first aftermarket purchase a locking hitch pin and lock the adapter in the receiver hitch.

If you live in an area where rust is a problem do not leave the adapter, or drawbar itself in the receiver. I make good money cutting them out for guys that did and it's not fun.

Would that apply if the drawbar is aluminum?

On my '11 gas truck the manual said to not tow for the first 1,000 miles. I don't know if your truck will have that cautionary note. Perhaps the boat & trailer is light enough to not matter.

Don't think it will be a problem MINKE, but thanks for the response. Won't tow the 35' 5th wheel till Sept. & my boat is a bare bones 16' tin boat, don't think the boat, motor, & trailer amount to 1000bls.

1,000 pounds is about the same as the difference between two guys before and after lunch! For a diesel 1,000 pounds is definitely "in the noise".
