On my 08 F250 above the rearveiw mirror there is a 2" X 2" black box with a button on it. Any body know what it is? Also on the front of the dash below the radio on the right side is a 1/4" plug that says inlet. What is that for? Thanks

My truck has that box too? I don't have navigation so maybe its the sensor for the auto dimming rearview mirror or the auto headlights?

It's an aux input jack for your stereo...you can plug in an ipod or something similar...select the aux setting and you'll hear the music through your stereo.

I believe when you push that button it is a distress signal, for all local 6oh's, to help tow your 6.4L when it breaks down

I think my 6oh has that same distress button, but it signals all local 7.3L's to come tow me

What happens when a 7.3 hits the distress button?

Cummins 5.9 to the rescue?

So... What you are telling me is when you hit the button you end up with a 12v, a 24v, and a 7.3 with blown transmissions... a 6.0 with a hot no start/hpo leak, a 6.4 with a cracked piston, all being pulled off the side of the road by a 6.7psd or late model duramax all while a 6.7 ctd can't get itself to move due to the torque management programming??
