Alright, if you saw my last post, you'd know that I totalled my truck. I have a parts frame that I'm going to start over on. The whole driveline is absolutely fine, besides a snapped u joint in the rear.
However, I nuked the front spring, front hanger. I'd be willing to try my luck on a custom fab front leaf drop.
My crazy ideas include:
- stock rear springs in the front (for the [positive?] arc)
What's wrong with this setup and what would work?
- keep my stock springs, but move the front mount forwards or backwards 3/4" to change the shackle angle for a smoother ride?
- stock SD springs? Like I said I could make another front mount. But how far ahead would I put the new spring hole?
My goal is to go ~3 inches from where it sat (level) before the crash. I can just block the rear to match because I have air bags.
Is there anything I left out? Any questions? Don't understand anything? Just ask, I can probably better explain something.
I recently got my hands on a pair of V code leaf SD springs. And some 1/4" steel plate that I can build hangers from. Yeah I figured this would be the best way to go.
