hi, can someone tell me what the switch between the mirror switch and the window switch does? mine does nothing. it rocks back and forth momentarily. does not stay in any position except center. is it a window lock? I cant seem to find a picture of one on google or rockauto and it dosent show in the owners manual. I just got this truck yesterday. 2001 f250 7.3 2wd supercab shortbed.
no, its manual. but gets me to thinking maybe it was replaced. the power mirrors have been replaced with manual factory ford, probably due to price. I found a $600 receipt in the pile.
my father-in law has had 2 of those go out on him. hmmmmm
Fold down your back seat and see if there's an outline on the floor where the motor would've been for the back window. Its definitely not a stock switch.
ok, so last night I pulled the panel. the mirror plug was undone, but the mirrors were replaced with manual ones. it's definatly aftermarket. does anyone have a schematic for the doors on a 2001? I need to chase down the colors.
winner, winner, chicken dinner!!! ok, so yesterday I removed the panel and there was a bunch of aftermarket wiring to both doors and keyed power and a ground. I'm guessing the rocked switch was momentary for mirror heaters. anyway, all of the stock wiring is still there for power mirrors w/o heat or turn signals (which works for me), so now looking into those.
