Front End Advice Please...

Is there less expensive alternative to using an MII IFS if I want to upgrade brakes/steering/and lower the front 3-4 inches? Specifically, I was thinking about doing disk brakes now, and going with dropped axle and rack/pinion later but not sure if a separate rack and pinion set up will work the dropped axle. Seems like the oil pan (front sump) is in the way. I'm not doing the work myself, just not knowledgeable enough, and have had a few shops suggest MII IFS....Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

The shops are right. Look around on this site for the MII IFS and other options for your truck. Good Luck .

The F-1 frame is the same as your truck in terms of mounting a suspension.

You might also consider the Jag IFS swap......pretty simple install. Do a search on the 48-56 forum here for it . lots of build threads.
