I use white silica sand. It comes in bags at Lowes or Home Depot.

Comes in different sizes, too, depending what you're blasting.

Thank you.

I read somewhere that the use of silica sand was dangerous (silicosis).

None of it is safe to breathe, so gird up your PPE.

I used a respirator, hearing protection, a hoodie, a hood and still had glass bead everywhere.

Good idea. I've been sweeping up the mess from my driveway and passing it through a window screen. I seem to get back about 30% but I'm now passing a lot of junk through the nozzle.

The HF ball joint that feeds the nozzle sprung a pinhole leak out the side of the body this evening so I'm heading back to HF tomorrow.

Sean,
I see that German drug mfg Bayer has offered to buy Monsanto for 62 billion. Wonder how that might affect you and the business? I know you said your location is moving, just wondering how that changes things?

Not sure how I missed this but what a sad day to learn that Dieseltech Ron was killed in a head on collision a couple of weeks back near Hemet.
Always a big help here to "put all the pieces together" and help when tackling underhood projects.
We'll miss him and his great videos. RIP.

Good question on Bayer, Bob - it's all speculation until the board accepts, counters or refuses. Time will tell!

Very sorry to hear about Ron.

And now in the "you're getting old" department:

Little Bobby Zimmerman, of Hibbing, MN is 75 years old today!

He sure looks it, too!

Happy Birthday, Bobby!

Sigh, not sure if this is good or bad. Might need a TRS-80 to run 'em.

But the good news is that the Feds are upgrading in 2018.
Wonder what an upgrade means to them?
Moving to the smaller 4" or so floppy's?
