1989 4.9 Temp Gauge
Hey guys, new on here and first time posting so any mistakes, my apologies. I have a 89 150 with the 4.9 with 224,000 miles. When I first bought the truck I noticed it would run hot, so I replaced the belt, fan/clutch, radiator, water pump, thermostat (190) and housing, sensor, and upper and lower hoses. After all that, I still have the issue. The strange part is when the temp gauge is close to the H, if I set the parking brake, then release it the needle will go back to the left, rather quickly.
One other small thing is the fuel gauge doesn't work properly for either tank, different tendencies for each one. Would all I need to do is replace both pumps?
Thank you in advance for the help.

Did you replace the correct sensor? The one that goes to the temperature gauge and not the one that controls the richness of the gas.
As far as your fuel gauge, if your trip odometer works I would just fill both tanks and reset it to zero and learn to live with it by refilling plenty soon. With 2 tanks you can certainly get by without messing with the pumps just for the gauge. Just my opinion.
