oil light

Can someone tell me where the oil pressure sender is on a 390 V8. I changed the oil on my 1973 F100 pickup and then the oil light will not come on. Because when you change oil it makes such a mess on the frame I did wash the oil off around the filter,frame and am wondering if that may have caused the malfunction. If the sender is somewhere around the oil filter I could have bumped or pulled a wire loose also.

It's threaded on the oil filter to block "adapter". Yeah, easy to knock of the wire.

Are you saying there is some type of adapter next to the oil filter that is treaded into the block.

Here's a picture of the filter adapter, the oil pressure sending unit is highlighted. This one is for a gauge, the one for an oil pressure light is smaller, like the one in HIO's illustration.
