Oil Additives, slick 50 etc.

I was just curious about those products out there like Slick Fifty, Duralube ect. Would they help if you had low oil pressure. Like watching the oil pressure slowly drop while sitting at a lon red light. any information you all may have on these products, pro and con would be appreciated! Thanks

Oil additives are a waste of money! You probably need to verify
you have a low oil pressure problem with a "wet" gauge. If your
oil pressure is low, then you should find the cause of the low
oil pressure (plugged pickup screen, oil pump, warn bearings, etc.).

One other thought....make sure you aren't using a Fram oil filter!!

oil additives are a waste really they dont do much but reduce the size of your wallet dont do an engine flush either you can wash out your bearings doing that and that stuff called motor honey will clog oil journals . anything that says teflon dosent do any good ethier because teflon has to be heated to around 1700 degrees f to bond with a substance so its not coating your engine the only oil additive that im not so unsure about is prolong but it wont increase oil pressure. listen to the above post your oil pump is probobly going or you have a faulty filter all filters should have a bypass relief valve inside so that in case the oil filter is stopped up it will keep circulating but fram filters are the worst filters out there!!!

Prolong has Chlorine in it. It eats bearings.
