I am determined to find an old style bug deflector for my 75 f250 highboy. The Bug Shield by Armadillo is out of business and as far as I know there the only ones that made these style (see below). So....
Does anyone know where I can purchase an old style deflector like this?
Or.. would anyone be willing to sell there deflector (smoked or black)? I'd be willing to pay well above for what you paid for it (PM me).
I have 2 old style one in the parts shed....but one is red and the other is blue..I think? I know not black/dark/tinted or clear, for sure. I will look this evening for you.
Ok found them, yes one red and one blue. Red has the mount tabs and is more angled "V'ed" for the hood. I do not think either came off a Ford, the mount tabs look to be way off.
Blue looks to be not wide enough and it flat anyway and had NO mount tabs.
I imagine the red one could be made to work, but you have to remember that the tabs will have to fit in between the front of the hood and the back side of the outer grill shell.
I had one on my 73 and I have seen on JY trucks rub marks on the back side of the grill shell and on the front of the hood from the tabs.
Sorry the red one is already sold to him, and he currently is looking for another one. The blue one might be sold to him too, if the measurements work out.
Thanks for the quick response guys! My '71 has red interior so I gotta stick with finding a red bug guard Wish someone would make these again, I grew up in the 80's when all of the local guys including my dad had their trucks name painted on them...keep me in mind if anyone comes across a old style red one!
