Old Style Bug Deflector. Need your help!

Thanks for the quick response guys! My '71 has red interior so I gotta stick with finding a red bug guard
Wish someone would make these again, I grew up in the 80's when all of the local guys including my dad had their trucks name painted on them...keep me in mind if anyone comes across a old style red one!

That's what I was going to say! Bending some smoked or colored lexan with a couple of strips of aluminum with a handful of aluminum brackets shouldn't be that hard... might be a bit time consuming though.

So i did some research and found a company out there that has the acrylic needed (transparent red too!)...

Plan to order a 7" x 62" piece with 1" radius edges on top and use aluminum channel to mount it...should work great!

So how does one pound their fist in the sweet spot to open the hood? Could be a challenge...

People have said they hit the sweet spot for it to open but I never do that. I pop the latch and then push down a little bit until the lever comes out then open. If you're really short it would be a problem on my truck though :P
