Hence why I said it was an option...just went through the process of buying a 2015, and have done a ton of homework!

I agree, would have taken it as an option, but didn't want the 22's. I think it has to do with tuning on the shocks. The tuned the system to work with the 22's, to give a better ride, but have the fancy wheels.
to the OP, from 20105 on the tow package does not change the suspension - so the source of your different ride is not the tow package. the heavy tow package consists of wiring, trans cooler, bigger radiator, heavy duty flashers, etc.. springs and shocks are not dependent on tow package. I will return to tires especially if the suspensions are the same. If your Expy has the Hankooks or some other brand, move to Michelins (stay with P rated tires) and I am guessing you will note a significant difference on the small "busy" kinds of bumps like pavement expansion strips and cracks. If you have doubts, read Tire Rack, Discount Tire, or Consumer Reports for ride quality ratings on tires.
The Premier A/S and Latitude Tours are both designed for a luxurious ride. The LTX M/S2's (or Defender LTX M/S) are probably a bit less smooth but I love these tires and would put them on any truck or SUV if there was a size that would fit.
