Not sure why Im having a issue with Parking lights but figured out a fix I can live with

So I bought parking lights and they did not fit, sent them back, and I just picked up these used '56 frames, and they still didn't fit great, so I was going to pull the gravel pan, cut and re-weld the section were the parking lights were supposed to fit and french in some round parking/signal lights, which would have been pretty cool, but last night it was bugging me that none of the frames fit, so I started playing with them and I loosened the grill and dropped it down a little and cut some PVC or PCV rubber hose (

i know one of you is gonna correct me) and they fit almost perfect! Saved myself a lot of work.

That doesn't look bad to me. I think it actually looks nice. The only thing I might wonder about is if the rubber hose could leave black marks around the lens on the paint after a while. If it does, you could try that thin door edge guard they sell at the auto parts store. It usually comes in clear, black or "chrome". That might look nice too.

These housings had a "U" shaped rubber seal around the edges from the factory...your solution looks very much the same. Nice job. I have a 53 grille in my 56, talk about a PITA, try fitting 53 headlight buckets to a 56 valance. I have a solution in mind but that project is on the back burner for a few more months.

The stock parking lights ground through the light base onto the gravel pan, so you might have to run a ground to the screws that hold the light base. I have to do something like that because everything was painted so well, there was no viable ground.

That looks great, mine wouldn't fit either and like what you did to make it work. L8R ZFLASH
