I can't find any information on how to do this and any help would be appreciated.
I have a 1979 Ford F150 2wd and my inner fender skirt and hood support are trash (rusted through) on the drivers side. I can kind of tell where the bolts are looking at a parts catalog, but I'm sure that doesn't tell the whole story.
I've been scouring build pictures on here too.
Thanks man. I've never pulled a fender on one of these before but from what I can see and what I've read I guess the hardest bolts are the ones behind the door. I have pulled the radiator support and grill before so I've seen the under side of the inner fender skirt. If I run into any trouble I will hit you up.
Use like 12" or more of extensions and the ones behind the door are easy. Having the door wide open doesn't give the best access. About halfway works best. And don't forget the one (occasionally two) on the bottom of the fender by the door. They bolt in from the bottom. And the one midway down the front by the end of the bumper.
It's really not that bad. Lining up the new one is the hard part, if you are trying to get all the lines right.
Great tips. Thanks man. My dad used to drill a small (1/8") hole next to some of the bolts and then put a nail thought them when reattaching to line panels back up. Maybe that will work for me.
This fender is out of whack already. The bottom edge of the cowl is past the fender. Hope I can straighten that out while I'm at it.
