I have EB explorer 2010. It has dual A/c (front and rear). Recently it developed a problem that when I turn on front A/C only, it blows cool air from passenger side vents and normal air(cool little but not like passenger side) from driver side vents. But when I turn on the rear A/c as well, it starts blowing the cool air from driver side vents. I don't doubt on Freon gas because when I turn the rear ON, the front A/C cools normally as it is supposed to do. Any idea what can be the reason? I thought it is blend door but I have turned the Temp **** and the driver side vents blows hot air as the passenger side does.
I've had similar issues on my 2011 SHO and my wife's 2010 MKT and similar issues on a couple of Lincoln LS cars (2002 and 2004). In the SHO and MKT the issue turned out to be stripped blend door motors. Fortunately the one for the driver's side is easy to get to. Obviously with the SHO I didn't have separate rear controls and I cannot say we ever noticed a correlation with the rear controls on the MKT. On the Lincoln LS, those were issues with air discharge temperature sensors which were pretty easy to confirm using a professional-grade scan tool and looking at the datastream.
The temp sensors and blend door motors were in the $20-$25 range, even from the dealership. Most are universal within the same vehicle so you could try swapping them from side to side to see if that changes the performance.
