I just bought a 1997 F350 with a 460 obd2 California emissions. Whoever owned it before me put a miniature universal catalytic converter on it and in California that is a big No-No.
I've talked to a couple shops and they want to know what the catalyst sticker says, but it's not on the truck. I've talked to two different Ford dealers that say they can't get a replacement.
Does anybody know how I would find out what the information on the Catalyst sticker says for my model?
The catalytic converter info is on the VECI label under the hood.
Example:
Under the Spark Plug information are a bunch of acronyms with slashes. In the example above there is a listing of "TWC". That is the converter type.
Since you live in Commie-Fornia you will need a Cali. replacement compliant converter. They are pricey. Magnaflow carries them. I'm sure others do as well, but not many....

I know where the sticker is, but its peeled off (some type of fluid sprayed up under the hood right where it's at) Guess I'll find a junkyard truck and see what one says. I've only found one engine family code for the obd2 big blocks, but it's California, better play it safe.
