OT - Atlas 2 post lift installed

A couple of photos of the lift just installed. Should help with getting the cab/bed on and off. Took about three evenings, quality good for the price point. I would recommend checking it out if your in the market.

They sure are nice. This pic is our first test on a high capacity test.
'However" you will have to get creative. Ours will lift a F900 but
problem is the truck frame v/s running boards or saddle tanks is
about 2 feet and the lift came with only 8 inch extensions. And then
the other day serviced a later Chevy pick up, problem with these
trucks the frame behind the cab is curved up (not flat) so we have
to fab some kind of angled pad for those....sam

When I built my garage I only went with 10ft ceilings and truss type. I could remodel on side I guess but I am not into that or want to spend the money. Has any one used the bend pak portables ? Not trying to hi- jack the thread . The car looks like it should be mine on that lift.

Very nice, and cool kit car. I am going to have to get a better shop so that I can get a lift. I am getting dizzy if I lay on my back and work under the truck. Probably old age...

I bought a used Manitowoc lift a couple years back, paid $2000 for along with a transmission jack, screw jack and a couple of oil change cans. At the I went to look at it I told my wife I was going to offer the seller $2000 for it, she asked if I'd ever get my use out of it. Within a week of having the lift up I replaced the front ends of her car, my youngest son's car and my oldest son's truck. I would say it paid for itself within two weeks. We've done a lot with it in the time we've had it, made a few bucks doing side jobs too.

The worst part of it is the lift is a beast, heaviest built unit I've ever seen, and now that I have an interested party wanting to buy my shop he wants the lift included in the deal.

JTB321, now that you have had your lift for a couple weeks, what do you think? What model did you go with? I have thought about one for a while and after lying under the F1 today I say "no more"! My shop only has 10' ceiling but at least I will be able to sit under instead of slither....and I don't do that very well anymore. Any recommendations? Not getting any younger.........

I went with the Atlas 9KOH from Greg Smith equipment. This allows two heights during set up but you need a minimum of 11'6". Yo might have to consider a base plate model which will work in low ceiling garages.
So far, it is excellent, currently got the frame on the lift and it makes welding and bringing so much easier on the old bones!! Should be very useful for putting the cab and bed on/off during fit up.
