1949 F1 Build Any Pointers ??
Your bed parts look pretty good. If there is a lot of damage and rust that isn't showing in your pictures, I think Northern Classic Truck is the place to get bed parts. He is one of the manufacturers with the proper tooling. Many other suppliers are re-sellers & this guy is the real deal.
Before I bought the bed, I happened to be in Michigan on a business trip, so I stopped in to see their shop & take a look at the products. It was interesting to see raw sheet metal being stamped into Ford parts.

AOD's can be pretty touchy - that cable has to be set just right.
That transmisson will dissolve if that pressure isn't just right. Find someone that really knows
them to help you get it set up. You will have the best luck using a Lokar shifter - kind of pricey
but you will save a lot of aggravation.
You can beef up the AOD with AODE internals if you are running a
bit of an aggressive 351W. We are running the larger 2 inch Kevlar Overdrive band &
the larger Reverse Drum. We drive around town in D & only use O (Overdrive when going
over 50 on the highway. If you try to ram it into overdrive with a hard shift .....
AOD's come in 3 basic flavors A, B, & C. C has the small 1.5 inch servo - that's not the one you want.
Look for an A type AOD - common in V8 Lincoln Mark VIII engines - our's is from a V8 Tbird.
Good luck over there.
