On my 50 F-3 I painted the doors supported by the hinges screwed to upright 2x6s and the cab separately. I never rewelded the hinges to the cab. It only originally had very small spot welds anyway. I did use the welds to help me align the doors when they went back on. Patrick

How long has it been after you rehung the doors any droop?
If I were doing it, I would have the doors firmly in place prior to paint.
I have had the doors on with the cab mounted on the frame two times. The thing I'm concerned about is fitting after the rubber is on if I have to Ajust the hinge and I won't know that until I try it.
Thanks

Further explanation of painting doors. I had an upright 2x6 fastened to the floor and to the roof trusses in my garage. I bolted or screwed the hinges with the doors attached to this 2x6. That way I could spray paint the outside, inside (towards cab) and the edges of the doors all at the same time with no overspray or masking of the doors. I don't remember if I used one or two 2x6s. Somewhere I have pictures but that was before digital, so they are in a drawer somewhere.
That is not how we did it in the body shop but it worked out well. Patrick
