Well that depends, if the paint looks like it is chipping off it is a case of bad paint, or poor preping. If it looks smooth the door may be rubbing the cab, that would ware the paint off.
i had a prob where ford didn't get enough paint on an 02' SD SC 7.3, and had to repaint the tailgate 3 times and was going in for a 4th time due to it starting to rust. i also had primer showing through on the doors, hood, and hard to tell where else i didn't catch it. o'well, good luck and let us know what you find out.
