Smile 89' Bronco Project

EFI and AOD all failed to feel it happened all at once. So got a few questions. Still have the 5.0L 302 but I am Carburating it. I went with the C6 Auto Transmission with the NP-205 Transfer Case.. All out of a 78-79 Ford truck.. now I quickly realized that the 80-87 bronco never came with the NP-205 transfer case. It was the NP-208... oops... so here are the questions... about getting the NP-205 shift lever out of the original 78-79 shift lever for the four wheel drive. Basically trying to find out what other people have done.

- Drive shaft lenghs Front and Rear (Where to find them (hoping not for NEW))
- How to cut up the Floor Board for the 4wd lever

78-79 4x4 trucks never came with a 302/351. They did come with a 351m/400 but this c-6 tranny wont bolt up to a 302. I dont think the 300 6 was offered in a 78-79 4x4 either but I dont remember. If it is a 2 wd c-6 that was behind a 302 it will have to be torn down and the correct output shaft and tailhousing for a transfer case adapter installed to work. So the shift lever, cutting holes in the floor, and driveshaft lengths are probably the least of your worries.

C6 does bolt up to the 302.... I am just looking to see how the NP205 transfer case shift lever was ran.. it's been a while since I seen it. I have a access panel but not sure if I can get away with using that or having to cut into the transmission access cover than wanted to know if someone has done this before so if I can just get away with robbing some driveshafts out of a 78-79 bronco

I know a c-6 does bolt up to a 302. I also know that a 302 was never offered in a 4x4 in 78-79. 2wd yes. 4x4 ,emphatically, no. And a 2 wd c-6 will not allow you to bolt up a transfer case with out tearing it down and modifying it. And I do know everything I stated to be factual and I am not going to argue with you about it. Good luck on your project.

I know the 302 was not offered in the 78-79 bronco (I had one) but that's not my question. Was wondering if someone knew how much of a difference of the wheel base was to the 78-79 bronco and the 89 bronco... needing driveshafts... want to hopefully get some out of a 78-79 bronco if it will work and if the 4wd shift lever dimensions if I can get that hopefully? Trying to make this work as easiest as possible but it's not..
