BW or NP transfer case - which is better?

The BW transfer case in my 89 Bronco is making some noise and has
picked up a vibration. I can rebuild this one, or put in the NP
transfer case from an 82 Bronco that a friend just had rebuilt.
He has since decide to part out the 82 and build an early Bronco.
Is this a direct interchange (both rigs are C6 automatics - 351W
on the 89 and 302 on the 82)?
Will the linkage/floor shift for the BW work for the NP?
Same length, etc??

Any help is greatly appreciated -

Yes. I've got the 1356 manual shift. The other is a
NP208 (I believe) manual shift.

The 2 t-cases are mechanically interchangeable, but if you don't swap the NP shifter in, you may have to fiddle with the BW shifter to get it to work right.
