Bed Terminology
I'm a little confused. What differentiates between a 1959 4X4 short bed, long bed?

On the 59 and 60 F100 and F250 4x4s, there were only long beds from the factory, as only one wheelbase (118") was available.

Thank you for your reply. So, this term actually refers to the wheelbase?

A long bed is 8' long. They were on the pickups with the 118" wheelbase.
A short bed is 6.5' long. These were on the pickups with the 110" wheelbase.

Thanks. Much clearer now. I was trying to purchase the middle cross members under the bed. Wasn't sure what width had to do with length. Maybe the short bed is narrower.

What type of bed does your truck have, Styleside (upper pic [lower]) or Flareside (lower pic)?
Flareside has a wood bed floor, Styleside's bed floor is steel.
The 1957/60 Styleside beds were also used on the following: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD / 1961/66 F350 / 1962/63 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F250 4WD

One exception was CREWCAB 4x4's were made with short beds fleet or style side. Mine were both done by Oroville.

Crew Cabs prior to mid-year 1965 were conversions done by body makes such as Crown Coach.
Styleside = Ford, a Fleetside is the Chevrolet/GMC version.
