Question 351w heads?

has anyone put 351w heads on their 1994 or newer 302 truck eng? & if so what were the gains(ie hp or torque), also what did you need to reinstal the 302 intake manifold?

351w heads?

The 351 heads bolt down and everything bolts up to them (302 lower intake included) nothing to worry about. However, the (ballpark figure) early to mid 80+ 351 heads are a 302 design so why even use them? You will have to use a step stud to install them the 351 use a larger bolt. If you use a head too far back then you may have some emissions issues as far as hooking them up. If you just want a cheap upgrade many will tell you to bolt on some iron gt-40 or gt-40p heads other than header issues with the "p" design they bolt right down, if you get the regular gt-40 get them off a 302 and they will bolt right down some came on 5.8351 lightnings so they would use a larger bolt. I believe the general rule is this will gain you 20-30hp/tq. Maybe this helps some, good luck
