2002 Lightning backfire and no start
I have a 2002 L that i purchased not running. Seller said "something blew-up and stopped running".
Checked fuel pressure and its good. Old Kenny Bell blower installed made by Autorotor.
It will pop once in a while but mostly just spins without any fire. Yesterday i got the BIG backfire and it sounded like it came out both ends. Now it doesent pop at all.
Could it be the crank positioning sensor? Or am i missing something.

No code but i got a hole in at least 1 piston, turns out the back fire was not a backfire at all it was the crankcase filling with gas, igniting and blowing the valve covers gaskets out.
Pulled plugs and all electrodes are melted. Someone ran lots of boost!
Have a feeling the engine is a throwaway? Bummer
I got a L for sale cheap!
How do you get the rear plugs out? I cut all the sheet metal out under the wiper assemble and now it easy. I just need to fab a metal replacement kit and i will be rich. Too bad I didn't do this in 2000 i could have sold millions of them.

It's pretty straightforward...a little bit of a pain in the butt yes...but straightforward. Ya just gotta use swivels and extensions. 
Not likely. Aint nobody gonna wanna hack up their engine bay to the point it needs a replacement plate bolted in to cover all the sheet metal that was removed. Besides, guys back in the day changed plugs on these trucks all day every day.
