I was reading a buzzer article from a couple years ago and in the article it explained what each wires function is (the picture). My question is if I disconnected the black/pink hash wire, which warnes you when your key is in the ignition, would the headlight warning and seat belt warning still work?
You may have a problem finding the black/pink hash wire. As I explained on this thread, the 1986 EVTM says that the hash marks had been discontinued by then. But, I don't know if that was done in 1985 or 1986. Obviously it hadn't been done in '84 or Ralph wouldn't have said "black/pink hash". But I don't know if your '85 will have it or not. However, if you find out please let me know. That would be a good clue in my quest.
Sweet! Haha I just looked for the buzzer in my bronco, and found out the previous owner removed it, so I'll try and find a replacement. I think in 85 there were 2 buzzers. One with 6 slots, and one with 7 slots. The 7 slot one is the one that has the "headlight on" wire. My 85 f150 has the one with 6 slots, so what I might do is unplug the "key in ignition" warning wire and plug in the "headlight on wire" where that one was. Hopefully it will work.

This is correct. My buzzer had 7 pins, and I remember finding a number of 6-pin ones when I went to replace it with a chime (usually on the Broncos), and having to look for a while for a 7-pin.
Yea I'll look in all the Broncos in the junkyard. I don't hate the buzzer or the chimes, I just hate when your working on the truck and you leave your keys in the ignition and it's constantly chiming or buzzing. If I'm correct the buzzers with 6 pins are white, and the 7 pins are black, I don't know about the chimes. What cars had the chimers what would work?
