What you have is a 79 351w manufactured for the Galaxie car line

The 79 351w had 69cc chambers and 1.78 intake / 1.45 exhaust valves. Stamped steel rockers. And a deck height of 9.503 inches.

Thanks allot can anyone else tell me what the compression ration is and how I can boost it. Can I use a set of 289 heads?

You could but it would choke the motor, potentially. You could always if the heads are in good condition have them milled, but then you could run into some intake alignment issues, depending on how they were milled. Your best bet would be to get some gt-40's or gt-40p's. Either one of those options (milled current or new heads) would be fine short of changing your pistons. More likely than not with that cc your compression is probably 8.5:1 +/- a few points. Later

i used the 289 with no intake problems if they arent milled too much. side by side the 289 and 699 cc are the same becides for maybe a hare on the valve sizing maybe .010. nothing notacable. i would recommend porting the heck out of the heads b/c essentially what u r building is a 289 stroked. after mid 70 all small blocks that had the 69 cc heads had the same head except for the bolt holes. but these can be drilled. 302 and 351 basically the same head. the 60 cc early windsor heads had bigger ports on the intake side. and from what i can tell the better stock head and not to start any thing so i will say people usually look for the gt 40s or the 60 cc. or even the e7te. but i think a 289 can be a heck of a head for building compression without expensive pistons. just be sure to get a cam for the compression ration, not too low, b/c it will detonate, and get the stall conv. and lower or truck gears. i never plan on pushing a stock bottom past 4500 and 5500-6000 tops. so head breathing really shouldnt be a real big issue as someone pushing 8000 in a circle track or strip car.,
