You could replace the console with a center seat from a newer truck; another of our female members did that swap herself- hubbys a mechanic but she does the wrenching on HER Ex!
I've posted some Craigslist links for center seats (new takeouts) that were around $100. I'll find one for ya tomorrow. They come with a seatbelt and all!
Any idea what this plug is? It's against the wall, passenger side, behind the battery, under a relay. It is grey plastic. It has 5 prongs inside, and comes straight off the positive battery cable.
There seems to be something inside the female side of the plug, spider web, or white powder (corrosion??) When I plug the male end in and pull it back out , the white powder is on the tips of the prongs. I can wipe it off and plug it back in and get new white on the tips .
(Hopefully the pictures attached... I posted 2)
Holy cow... OK I just pulled the plug on the alternator, and the plastic clip is broken that's supposed to lock the plug into place! The plug just sits in there very loosely! Problem is, it's broken on the alternator side, so now what??
Where it plugs into the alternator
Little locking piece of plastic that was broke off and stuck in the cable side of the plug
Who installed the alternator? You can buy the pigtail that goes to the alternator but it the tab is broken off the alternator itself it won't do you much good. I have seen the plugs tie strapped together.
I've used zip ties on that kind of a connector before, you just need to check 'em every once in a while because cheap zip ties won't last real long with the underhood heat. If there's no place to run the zip tie to make it secure, you could use a dab of hot glue to hold it.
Good news, though; I believe you've found your electrical issue

We installed it. Well, my husband specifically. He said maybe he snapped it off when he plugged it in, but I would like to think it should take a lot more than just pushing the plug in to snap off that clip... sheesh, car parts should be made better than that :-/ we are gonna try to glue it in and see what happens. I'll try and see if I can get a zip tie around it.
From what I can see there is a screw holding it in, but you have to open the metal housing to get to it... not sure I want to risk that
