Ranger?

Was the Ranger option available on a step side p/u? I have a 69 F100 with the brushed alluminum trim around the cab. It was my undrstanding that only the ranger came with that. My trim code on the VIN tag is 281. There was a decal on the glove box lid, but it is missing. Factory A/C,P/S,P/B,trany coller,P/S cooler...the works is in this truck. Curious to know what I have here. Is it a Ranger, a Custom, or what.

Only the base model, Custom Cab and Ranger were the trim options in '69. Yours sounds like a Ranger and yes you could get a Flareside.

Any year Ford pickup is either a Flareside or Styleside, Ford's lingo.
