remote start/keyless entry
After freezing in the winter and burning up in the summer i am interested in putting a remote starter on my 94 bronco. I also think i should get a remote starter with keyless entry.
My bronco has power locks already.
Is this a hard thing to install? and can anyone suggest a good brand to use?
all help would be appreciated.

get a good brand, I have one in my bronco i believe it was called bulldog or somthing like that. Mine was around 50 bucks but the better ones run around 85. the install wasnt to bad, just get a wiring diagram before you start so your splicing into the proper wires it will make it much easier. mine doesnt unlock the doors, thats why it was cheaper

It's all a matter of how much you want to spend.
Personally, I've had bad luck with the Bulldog ones--seen more than one of them fail.
Both my Pontiacs have Avital Avistart3300 systems in them--I picked em up for ~$125 on ebay, takes about 6 hours to install.
I don't know if they have changed the design, but the Bulldog used to have all the relays internal, and if one died you were kinda screwed--the Avital units use standard "Bosch" style relays, so if one goes out, just unplug it and replace with a $5 relay from the parts store.
Just do some research, and get the features you want--there are lots of variables

thats what i figured, if i hadnt gotten mine so cheap . i know the bulldog are not good quality but so far it has held up to at least one winter so far. but i agree you get what you pay for and in this case it aint worth cutting corners.

I've installed various makes, including Bulldog, in several cars and trucks. My favorite ones are made by Designtech International. The Bulldog ones (both of the ones I installed) failed within a year. Junk if you ask me.

They are very reliable. I have them in three of my vehicles, not the Bronco yet, and installed a few more in friend's cars. What's really nice is that they are VERY adjustable for all different situations. They cost around $100 for ones with built-in keyless entry...etc. Or $79 for start only base unit. I've bought them from Autozone (which I normally hate, but they do sell them) and online. The prices on their website are WAY higher than I've ever paid, so skip ordering right from them.
